Good as you are.

 Probably you are okay.

Maybe we are all searching too much, I mean the internet and podcast spheres are full of self-help advice, as if we all are missing something.

Maybe we are all ok as we are, ok there will be always people who are trying hard to rid themselves of traumas that have an effect on how they live their lives, but that isn’t the majority.

Maybe it’s ok that some of us are introverts, some of us are extroverts, some are hyper active some are happy to just sit their lives out, Maybe it’s ok not to be motivated, not to have plans or goals, maybe your goal is to work less and sit more in the garden and read a book, what’s wrong with that?

All this ‘achieve your goals’ shit makes people feel insufficient in some way, always thinking that in some aspect of our lives we are just not good enough, maybe ‘the way we are is the way we should be’, we are not some performing dolphins that have to keep jumping through the hoops to please others.

We are all different that is us, we are not machines that should all be performing in the same way, some like lots of sleep others don’t need so much, there is no version of humankind that is 100 % good for all. We should think good of ourselves the way we are, unless we are psycho murderers or criminals then we may need to adjust.

All this looking deep in to ourselves and finding faults that need to be corrected is good for booksales and podcast ‘likes’ , but does it make us happier?

You can spend your whole life meditating over yourself and your ‘inner you’, without any results, maybe the person you are is the person you should be.

The thousands of years of passed down genes and other building bricks have made you the person you are, why are we constantly told that we need ‘mending’?

Why am I thinking all this? Because I’m trying to come to terms with who I am, the ‘me’ that is ‘me’ now, good things bad things, some things need correcting other things need to be accepted and celebrated.

I don’t feel the need to change, I have the feeling that I would be play acting, trying to be someone I am not.

At the moment I have reached the place that is ok for me, I am happy how I am. Some internet ‘guru’ might say I lack discipline or ‘life goals’ but so what? This is maybe the real me, the way I want to be, so hey ‘Gurus’ don’t call me I won’t call you.

The new big commerce is the Self-help and Self improvement market, a dangerous place. Because the premise of it all is ‘you are not good enough’ ‘you need help to unlock your potential’ ‘you need to change’ . MAYBE you are just good as you are, with all the cracks and faults, with all the habits and thoughts, this is what evolution wanted you to be. Enjoy it!
